HOMELESSNESS IN BANCROFT

Poverty and homelessness are rising in and around Bancroft.

Bancroft has four levels of government:

Municipal - Town of Bancroft
County - Hastings County
Provincial - Government
Federal - Government of Canada

Hastings County's Community and Human Services department take the lead at the County level in responding to the needs of people without housing.

It 2025 it was announced that "Expansion of operations for the Bancroft Hybrid Warming Centre to a permanent, year-round, 12-hour operation by 2026 is moving ahead."
